The world’s most iconic beverage was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on 8 May 1886. Dr John Stith Pemberton, a local pharmacist, created the syrup for Coca-Cola® and took a jug of the new drink down the road to Jacobs’ Pharmacy. There, it was declared “excellent” and sold at the soda fountain for just five cents a glass!
